INVERGORDON
Golf in Invergordon started in 1893 but in these past 100 years or so, the waters of the Cromarty Firth and it's naval conections have wreaked havoc with land being requisitioned in both 1914 and 1939.

A 9 hold course was opened in the mid 50's but as the importance of the Invergordon Naval Port declined and the oil boom hit Easter Ross, the club flourished. A new clubhouse was built in the 1980's and the course was extended to 18 holes in 1997. Seven of the previous nine holes were retained and the new layout redesigned so that the old mixes with the new.

The course is a lush parkland layout with some good testing par 4's and some picturesque short par 3's, especially the 8th with its natural pond and a green surrounded by the rhododendron bushes.
